Since asbestos containing building products have been supplied from the early 1900s until November 1999 there is a vast number of trade names that have been used. I have listed all those that I could trace, with where possible the quantity and type of asbestos used in the products manufacture and whether it is low density in which case a licensed contractor should be used to work on it or whether it is asbestos cement where a competent contractor can be used.
If you know of or come across any trade names of asbestos containing products that are not listed please let me know and I will try and incorporate them
Although we are not experts in the handling of asbestos materials in electrical appliances we have managed to compile a list of storage heaters that contain asbestos products. No doubt the list is not complete and so if you know of others that do contain asbestos please advise us so that we can update the list.
We also felt it would be worth while to provide a list of the different families of asbestos products and what they were used for. Most of the uses are now defunct and it is unlikely that there are examples of some of the uses still to be found, but we felt that they should be left in for completeness.
Again if there are others that you know of please let me know and again I will try and incorporate them.
